You just want to warn everyone.

Within a day of getting our van serviced, it acted up and left my wife stranded with a 3 and 1 year-old. The engine kicked and stalled. I had to have it towed back to the shop that serviced it. The shop said it would be a few days before they could get to it. Battling for patience, we finally heard from the manager who said the car gave a P0710 code.

“Basically that means something is wrong with the transmission. Our Tranny guy will be in tomorrow.” he said.

My wife inquired about the issue being related to the original service done on the car. He said they did not touch the transmission.

However, when I asked if they checked the fluid in the transmission, he said yea, they did. Needless to say, I was not trusting the guy.

The next day, he called again. This time they got a P0300 code which meant…

“The solenoid on the tranny shorted out. You’re lookin’ at $800 for the repairs,” he said.

I asked for a printed up quote and took the van. I then drove it safely to the Paola Dodge dealership to have it looked at.

“What? A ‘P0300’ means a misfire. You just need new plugs and a reprogram. You’re only looking at about $265. And the ‘P710’ code  does not apply to this car,” the Paola Dodge manager said.

Basically, the other dealer was trying to swindle me and take me for extra money. No integrity, tons of lies. I found myself wanting to warn everyone of this horrible business and how they are trying to cheat people in the community.

It reminds me of our Governor. People are shocked that she lied about the state’s readiness for aiding Greensburg, and their citizens. But it is her way of doing business.

Remember her campaign ad? “Leadership, that comes from the heart … at a time of war.” Yet she criticizes our troops, and lies about state readiness to dishonor our President when she should focus on aiding those who lost everything from an F5 tornado.

Remember the ad of her driving a school bus, how she “solved the school finance” problems. Truth is, she only offered one plan, and could not get it out of committee. While the Supreme Court ordered increased money to schools through a special session, she never offered a solution. While Johnson County Republican Legislators were tirelessly collaborating for a solution, Kathy Sebelius was trying to use the session to get the state to own a casino. (Regardless of your gambling stance, that was not the time for it.)

Remember the ad where she brags about not raising taxes during a financial crisis. But it wasn’t for a lack of trying. Her second year, she introduced a tax increase that would have been the states largest in history, but again, Johnson County Republicans, and a handful of Democrats saw the bad policy and killed the plan.

So, much like the lousy car shop in Olathe, I want to shout to the world, “She is lying to you!” I just hope people will listen. But, if you still think this Governor is good for Kansas, well, I know of a car dealership in Olathe that would love to do business with you.
