County Precinct Leaders are Elected During the August Primary
- Individual Republicans vote for one precinct commiteeman and one precinct committeewoman in each precinct.
- Vacancies can be filled by the County Party Chair.
County Precinct Leaders Meet in November to Re-Organize
- The newly elected precinct leaders, known as the County Central Committee, assemble in years of a general election, usually in late November, to elect the four county officers: a county (1) Chairman, (2) Vice-Chair, (3) Secretary, and (4) Treasurer. The chair and vice-chair must be opposite gender. [County Officers]
- The precinct leaders elect delegates and alternative delegates to the 3rd District Committee based a the number of Republican votes in the county. In 2008, Johnson County elected 96 delegates and 96 alternate delegates. [JoCo Delegates to the 3rd District]
Olathe Republican Party
The Kansas GOP Constitution authorizes City Republican Parties. The Olathe Republican Party is the only city party in Johnson County. [ Link ]
KANSAS REPUBLICAN PARTY
Third District Committee
- At the November re-organization meeting, the County precinct leaders elect delegates and alternative delegates to the 3rd District Committee based a the number of Republican votes in the county. In 2008, Johnson County elected 96 delegates and 96 alternate delegates. [JoCo Delegates to the 3rd District]
- At the December reorganization meeting, the County Chair, Vice-Chair, and County Delegates, along with officers and delegates from Wyandotte and Douglas Counties, assemble to elect the 3rd District's leaders and 37 delegates to the state central committee. [3d District Officers and Delegates]
State Committee Meeting
- In January following a general election, the State Central Committee, consisting of 37 delegates from each district, the four District Chairs and the four Vice-Chairs, meet to elect a state Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.
- They also elect one at-large delegate from each district for the Executive Committee
- During presidential election years they elect a committeeman and committeewoman to the RNC.
